Dr Karin Peuschel studied Medicine and Molecular Biology at the University of Zurich and completed her doctoral thesis in Ophthalmology at the University of Zurich. Her clinical training took place in Eastern Switzerland, Ticino, and French-speaking Switzerland across various disciplines, including surgery, anaesthesiology, neurosurgery, anatomy, and psychiatry. In addition, she worked in molecular biology research at the University of Zurich.
She subsequently completed her specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Since 2016, she has been working independently in psychiatry and psychotherapy in the city of Zug.

Dr Peuschel has published several scientific articles and delivered lectures in the fields of molecular biology, pharmacology, psychiatry, and psychotherapy. She has also served as a peer reviewer, speaker, and member of conference committees.
Her publications include work on the indirect antiviral effects of propranolol, prion research, and haemochromatosis. She developed a megaprimer PCR technique and formulated a new equation relating to DNA renaturation. Furthermore, she discovered a new pharmacological treatment for dementia and subsequently developed a new theory of dementia therapy, later extending this approach to other neurological disorders (not published). She has also discovered and published a new pharmacological treatment for typically difficult-to-treat chronic skin lesions using propranolol.
Since 2011, Dr Peuschel has developed a new psychotherapeutic approach addressing addiction disorders, dissociative disorders, psychosomatic disorders, unconscious defence mechanisms and psychogenic pain (partly unpublished).
